Is IT Seriously a Lucrative Carrier Option?   1 comment

Considering the Ever Growing number of engineering colleges in the country and never increasing wage  in the sector .Question often raised by many want to be software engineers .Why are  the Salaries not rising? .A Common aspect raised by many students during campus placements .10 years ago company x was paying y amount of money now x is paying  (y+0.05y) .With Ever Increasing Inflation the question why are wages not increasing ?.So Many students are withdrawing from placements and looking at higher education as a serious alternative

This chart should make it clear the number of students passing in different streams as shown below

Companies have a ready made anwser   for this  being we will be investing in training and with a large talent pool available what is the need to increase wages at entry level  .Many Indian MNC’s have about 60% of their employees being less than 2 years .While Most of Employees will be working because they want to gain experience  before they extract their pound of flesh .While most of the MNC’s have Maintenance and  Testing Portfolio for New Recruits  and in large organizations hardly you can bargain about working on area of interest .So Either you go with the wind or Think Different and stand out.As Start ups in India Continue to grow in Product Space .Hope they don’t end up being  existing Body Shopping MNC’s .Instead work on real time problems in product space .
