The world’s largest consumer tech show, CES, is just around the corner. Speculation is rife on what the key announcements will be. In the meantime, here’s looking at 10 trends that should be big in 2012.
Quad core devices
Asus has already launched its tablet with a 1.3Ghz quadcore Nvidia Tegra 3 processor (the Eee Pad Transformer Prime) and other manufacturers are expected to follow suit. The grapevine is already abuzz with HTC’s quad core phone and we expect Samsung, Motorola and LG to announce phones/tablets with quad core processors at CES 2012 too.
Qualcomm’s road map in 2011 mentioned quad core processors for 2012 and since Qualcomm’s Chairman and CEO is delivering a keynote speech, you should expect a flood of quad core tablets and smartphones to hit the market next year.
